Surely We Have Inherited Lies
In Jeremiah chapter 16 and in verse 19 God told us through the prophet Jeremiah that in the Last Days: “The Gentiles shall come to God from the ends of the earth and say, “Surely our fathers have inherited lies, worthlessness and unprofitable things.”
God said that in the Last Days, just before He returns, we will finally realize that we have been lied to and the biggest lie of all may well be the whole Easter celebration that many claim to be the holiest time of the year.
The truth is Easter has nothing to do with Jesus and it never did; the pagans were celebrating Easter, or should I say Ishtar, for 2,000 years before Jesus was born as a baby in Bethlehem. Nothing about the Easter celebration has to do with God. God never sanctified Lent (in fact He said it was an abomination in the Bible it’s called weeping for Tammuz - as we see in Ezekiel 8:14) Jesus did not enter Jerusalem on a Sunday, He was not crucified on a Friday and He definitely didn’t rise from the dead on a Sunday at sunrise. God in fact also calls the sunrise service an abomination as we find in the book of Ezekiel 8:16.
There are many theories as to the timing of Jesus’ final week before He was crucified. Many of us grew up with the chronology as follows:
1. Jesus rides into Jerusalem on Sunday (Palm Sunday)
2. He has the Last Supper with His Apostles on Thursday
3. He is Crucified on Friday
4. He raises from the dead on Sunday at sunrise
But this timeline is IMPOSSIBLE according to the Bible and if anyone teaches you this they are LYING to you whether they are doing it knowingly or not. So what can be Proven beyond ALL Doubt through the Bible? Here are 7 infallible truths we learn from the Scriptures:
1. God made the Sabbath Day Holy! Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11, Leviticus 23:3
So why did God Bless only the seventh day (Friday Evening –Saturday Evening) and call that one day Holy? Obviously it was special because something extremely special was going to happen on that day! God’s Son was going to enter Jerusalem one special Sabbath and He was going to rise from the dead on the following Sabbath day which made that day forever Holy indeed.
2. The penalty for NOT Keeping the Sabbath was Death! Exodus 31:12-15, Exodus 35:1-2
Why would God impose such a severe penalty for not keeping the Sabbath? God’s rule was you could not work or cause anyone else to work and if you did these things, you would surely be put to death. But again why such a severe penalty? (Exodus 35:1-2) It was because God’s Son (Jesus) was going to come one Sabbath and everyone would be required to either choose Him, or not, on that Sabbath day. If you were working that day you wouldn’t be there to choose Him and you would forever have the excuse that you were working so you couldn’t be there to choose Him. Likewise, if you required someone else to work on the Sabbath they would have that excuse. But God forever took that excuse away when He forbid work on the Sabbath.
What would happen if you missed choosing Jesus as your sacrifice? Obviously you would die in your sins. That’s why the penalty for Not Keeping the Sabbath was Death. If you miss choosing Jesus you will surely die in your sins.
3. The Sacrifice (the Perfect Lamb) Must be chosen on the 10th day of the month (Nisan) and sacrificed at Twilight (between evenings or 3pm) on the 14th of the month (Nisan): Exodus 12:1-6, Leviticus 23:4-5, Mark 15:33-37
The Sacrifice (the Perfect Lamb) was to be chosen on the 10th day of the month and sacrificed on the 14th day of the month. That’s only 5 days from the time you choose Him until the time He must die. (Exodus 12:1-6). What we are commonly taught is that Jesus came into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and He died on Good Friday but that is a total of 6 days. Obviously that’s mathematically impossible! Therefore the Palm Sunday Good Friday story must be a LIE!
There are no exceptions to this and no way around it - 5 does not equal 6 no matter how many times people repeat that lie. Yeshua Jesus entered Jerusalem on the Sabbath (Saturday the 10th of Nisan) and He was put to death on Wednesday (the 14th) there is no other scenario that works!
4. The Sign of the Prophet Jonah MUST be Fulfilled: Matthew 12:38-40
Jesus said the only sign He was going to give that proved He was definitely the Messiah was the sign of the Prophet Jonah. Jesus said: “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Matthew 12:38-40)
Jesus said the one sign that He was the Messiah would be that He would be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth. He didn’t say He would be in there only portions of days. He said He would be in there 3 full days and 3 full nights, or a total of exactly 72 hours. Not one minute more, not one minute less! You can never get 3 days and 3 nights in the commonly taught lie that He was crucified on Friday and raised on Easter Sunday. Again it’s mathematically impossible. At best you have 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) and only one day (Saturday). This is not 3 full days and 3 full nights so it is obviously a LIE! But if Jesus was crucified on Wednesday and rose on Saturday then the prophecy is fulfilled exactly.
Jesus would have been placed in the tomb just before sunset (it was still light) on Wednesday. Therefore He would have been in the heart of the earth on Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night (3 full nights) and He would have been in the heart of the earth on Thursday day, Friday day and Saturday day (3 full days). He would have been risen just before sunset on Saturday (the Sabbath) fulfilling the prophecy exactly. He was in the heart of the earth exactly 72 hours, not one minute more and not one minute less. Jesus also would have been raised on the third day, Saturday (the Sabbath) just before sunset, not at night. You see Jesus also prophesied the Son of Man would be raised on the third day (not night) and indeed He was; exactly as He said. (Luke 24:7)
5. The Messiah MUST be Raised Before the Feast of First-Fruits Begins: Leviticus 23:9-12, 1 Corinthians 15:22-23, Matthew 27:50-53
The Scriptures say the Feast of First-Fruits begins on the evening after the Sabbath (Saturday at sunset) following the Passover. In other words, the Feast of First-fruits always begins on the first Saturday evening (at sunset) following Passover. (Leviticus 23:9-12) The Scriptures also say that the Messiah must be raised before the Feast of First-Fruits begins because He is the First Fruit of all who will rise. (1 Corinthians 15:22-23) The Messiah must be raised before it begins because everyone else (the Old Testament Saints) were raised on the start of the Feast of First-Fruits. (Matthew 27:50-53)
Therefore if the Feast of First-Fruits begins on Saturday night at sunset and the Messiah must be raised before it begins, it means that Jesus must have been raised on Saturday afternoon! He had to be out of the tomb before Saturday evening at sunset! Therefore He could not have been raised on Sunday. I know what we have been taught through our Gentile traditions but the Scripture is clear THERE IS NO WAY JESUS WAS RAISED ON A SUNDAY IT’S IMPOSSIBLE ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE!
Further evidence that Jesus had indeed risen before Saturday evening at sunset is found in John’s Gospel in chapter 20 and verses 1 and 2. Here we are told: “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” Early on the first day of the week literally means as soon as the Sabbath was over, on Saturday evening, Mary went to the tomb (that’s why it says while it was still dark) and Jesus had already risen. Well of course he had because he rose late Saturday afternoon before the sunset. You see the Scriptures are crystal clear there is no room for guessing or theories.
6. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Matthew 12:1-8
The Lord of the Sabbath would be proclaimed as the Messiah on the Sabbath and He would rise from the dead on the Sabbath and indeed He did. No other day would make sense for these things to happen. Remember God blessed the Sabbath and made it Holy for a reason. Genesis 2:1-3.
7. All Scripture pertaining to the Messiah Must Be Fulfilled Exactly, In other words no Scripture can contradict another Scripture. Matthew 26:56, Luke 24:44-48
There is only one way for all these Scriptures to line up and agree with one another and it’s definitely not the Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday scenario. In fact, everything about that scenario must be a lie according to the Bible! Because nothing about that tradition lines up with Scripture, nothing at all!
1. The fact is the Lamb must be chosen on the 10th day of the month of Nisan which must also be a day when no one worked so that everyone would have the opportunity to choose the Lamb. Jesus fulfilled that to the letter when He rode into Jerusalem on the Sabbath (Saturday the 10th of Nisan) a day no one would be working and a day everyone would be able to witness His coming and chose for themselves.
2. For the next few days (from the 10th to the 14th) the Lamb must be examined to see if there is any fault in Him at all. And Jesus was examined as we can see in Matthew chapters 21 through 27, Mark chapters 11 through 15, Luke chapters 19 through 23 and John chapters 12 through 19. He was examined by the people, by the Scribes, the Pharisees and the Sadducee’s. He was examined by Annas and Caiaphas and Herod and finally He was examined by Pontius Pilot and no one could find any fault in Him. In fact in Luke chapter 23 and verse 4, Pilot after examining Jesus exclaimed: “I find no fault in this Man.”
3. On the 14th day of the month at Twilight (literally between evenings at 3pm) the Lamb must die as a sacrifice for sins. Once again Jesus fulfilled this prophecy exactly when He died on Wednesday Nisan the 14th at exactly 3pm. (Mark 15:33-37)
4. The Sign of the Prophet Jonah must be fulfilled exactly. The Son of Man must be in the heart of the earth for 3 full days and 3 full nights – 72 hours total. (Matthew 12:38-40) Jesus literally fulfilled this prophecy because He was in the heart of the earth (the tomb) for 3 full nights Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 3 full days Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
5. The Son of Man must be raised on the third day not the third night. (Luke 24:7) Jesus rose on Saturday afternoon before sunset which fulfilled this prophecy exactly because He indeed rose on the third day.
6. The Messiah must be raised before the Feast of First-Fruits begins on Saturday evening at sunset. Jesus was raised on Saturday afternoon before sunset which fulfilled this prophecy exactly as well.
7. All things spoken of by the Prophets of the Messiah must be fulfilled exactly in every detail. Jesus fulfilled every Messianic prophecy exactly and all the prophecies worked together to affirm that Jesus is the Messiah and He is God.
Jesus said to those who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31,32
